2020 brought Jake the prestigious 'Travis Collins Scholarship,' granting him the opportunity to attend the esteemed CMAA Academy in Tamworth. This experience became a turning point in his growth as an artist. Following his time at the academy, Jake secured his first-ever publishing deal with Kobalt Music.
Undeterred by the challenges of the pandemic, Jake's prolific releases culminated in his recognition as a top 10 finalist in the Toyota Star Maker competition in 2022. This milestone further fuelled his desire to immerse himself in the music community and embark on an intense co-writing journey in Nashville, setting the stage for a future brimming with exciting release prospects.
In 2023, Davey experienced a rollercoaster of emotions, marked by the highs of an unforgettable writing trip to Nashville and the lows of undergoing emergency spinal surgery and being diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome—a debilitating spinal cord injury jeopardizing not just his mobility but also his ability to pursue his passion for music.
Fast forward to 2024, and the outlook is notably more promising. Despite the challenges, Jake has been diligently applying himself to an intensive recovery routine, striving for the best possible outcome. With his latest single, "Second Chance," out now, over 1.3 million streams on his music to date, an extensive list of show dates to be unveiled including a national tour supporting Travis Collins, It’s proof that he is not only bouncing back but soaring to new heights.
